Welcome to 20 month Development Instructor ProgramDevelopment Instructors all have big hearts and a willingness to do something about the most basic contradiction in today’s world: the extreme poverty in which far too many people live.
The program covers 20 months, based in Denmark and the southern Africa.
The schedule comprises 12 month in Denmark, working with disadvantaged teenagers and 6 month creating sustainable development in Malawi or Mozambique. 2 month evaluation and experience sharing period, back in Europe.
Our aim is to make a difference in developing countries through our projects which are focusing on the improvement of the following issues: AIDS/HIV, education, rural community development, farming and income generating activities.
Responsibilities of the job will be stated clearly, but the realisation of the project is placed upon the volunteer, anchored to prepare their own way in order to achieve both goals of the project and goals which the volunteers have personally set them selves.
The 12 month preparation period take place at 5 school centres which facilitate your preparation for Africa. In each school centre the Development Instructors live and study together in teams of 3-6. The work at the school centre cover accommodation and program cost and give valuable experiences as well. The DI`s teams also come together for commen study weekends and many other events and actions. The study program include practical management, organizing and teaching skills.
In this moment we have Development Instructors from England UK, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary and Slovakia in the program. The Development Instructors are between 19 and 64, some have an university education, others come just from college, some have many years of practical working experience and some just have the spirit and willpower to help. Everybody have something to contribute with.
This website is created by the Development Instructors during their training. You will read about their education and daily life and common highlights in Denmark, in Malawi and Mozambique. You can read about their dreams, their struggles, their results and their good times. We hope you will enjoy.
